treasure hunting…

Brighton has squillions of lovely shops. I enjoy the fact when you’re here, you know it; you couldn’t mistake it for anywhere else, unlike many identikit towns around the UK. And in particular Brighton has many amazing junk/antique/second-hand/charity/curio shops. Yesterday I was exploring one shop in particular, Snooper’s Paradise (bit of a cheesy name but a cracking place to go curio hunting) and after much debating settled on just a couple of small purchases. What do you reckon?

There was a huge box full of them, and I spent ages choosing a few to buy. I went for places I’ve been to or lived in, since I had to give myself some kind of criteria. I have no idea what to do with them. Got to do some thinking. But at least I know if I come up with something good and want to buy some more, I have a reliable source.

I’m not sure if I’ve expressed my love of lenses to you yet, but I’ve had my eye on a box of monacles in this shop for ages. Well, actually they’re those funny lenses opticians use in the chunky glasses when they’re checking your sight (is this better? or worse?). They’re quite pricey, so I just took a couple, but aren’t they great?

I’ll keep you updated when I find a way to use them. I’m going to spend some time playing with them this afternoon!
